Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. Education comes in different methods such as teaching, training, storytelling, discussion and directed research. (Wikipedia)
Education goes beyond what takes places within the four walls of the classroom. A child gets the education from his experiences outside the school as well as from those within on the basis of these factors. These leads us to the types of education, namely,
Formal,
Informal and
Non-formal.
The Formal Educational System in Nigeria
Formal education or formal learning usually takes place in the premises of the school, where a person may learn basic, academic, or trade skills.
The introduction of the 6-3-3-4 Formal system of education in Nigeria, the recipient of the education would spend six years in primary school, three years in junior secondary school, three years in senior secondary school, and at least four years in a tertiary institution. (Vanguard News, 2012).

✔Meaning and Importance of Dignity? ✔️How to grow Dignity and Self Respect ✔️What does it mean to maintain Dignity ✔️How to maintain your Dignity as a Relevant Lady ✔️Benefits of Maintaining Dignity
MEANING AND IMPORTANCE OF DIGNITY
Dignity is important because it allows individuals and groups to feel valued and connected with others around them.
The most common response people offer is that dignity is about respect.
To the contrary, dignity is not the same as respect.
Dignity is our inherent value and worth as human beings; everyone is born with it.
Respect, on the other hand, is earned through one’s actions.
Dignity involves a mutual effort among people to listen, understand opinions and values and include one another in conversations. It is the conceptual basis for the formulation and execution of human rights and is neither granted by the society nor can it be legitimately granted by the society.
HOW TO GROW DIGNITY AND SELF RESPECT
It may not be easy at first and takes a lot of deliberate effort to put forth the dignity and self-respect you deserve.
1. Make sure not to worry what other people think and stay true to your core values and beliefs.
2. Do well to Work on changing your perceptions – of yourself and others.
3. Hold yourself to ambitious standards; Never do something halfway or to the least of your ability. Pride yourself on following through on your word and mean what you say.
4. Believe in your choices once you make them
5. Work hard and acknowledge your efforts It is the conceptual basis for the formulation and execution of human rights and is neither granted by the society nor can it be legitimately granted by the society.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO MAINTAIN DIGNITY?
Remember that Dignity is concerned with how people feel, think and behave in relation to the worth or value of themselves and others.
You can lose Dignity at any time whether by merit, status, etc.
Though inherent, and slightly unlike Respect which is rather earned, it can be regained if lost…
To maintain your Dignity therefore means to keep at guarding it so it doesn’t get lost or diminished anytime.
HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR DIGNITY AS A RELEVANT LADY
A yearning for dignity lies at the core of our desires and aspirations. This is the single strongest force that shapes all relationships and interactions –- personal, social or professional. Each of us wants to be treated well and with dignity.
Indeed, the amount of indignity you give in to is a measure of your lack of self-worth, while what you can give up to maintain your dignity is an indication of maturity and self-confidence.
How many times have you given in to demands that go against your grain just to ‘maintain the peace’ or keep a relationship going?
How many times have you set aside dignity and chased after someone who refuses to receive your calls, answer texts or meet you?
Have you given in to abuse in the belief that you deserved it, or hoping the abuser will repent?
Have you made choices you do not believe in just to please others?
Or, submitted to unfairness at office because you need the job?
In all these choices, you gave short shrift to your own sense of self-esteem.
Whatever else the consequence, giving up your dignity can never bring you happiness or satisfaction.
You maintain your Dignity when you stop telling a loved one what he or she wishes to hear and rather tell them what you really wish to say, when you start changing your behavior to suit another — you are harming not just your own dignity, but also his or hers!
To maintain dignity in a relationship, it is important to draw your boundaries
Particularly in intimate relationships, where you are most vulnerable! We hear that true love presupposes trust, but good sense and experience warn against exposing your chinks and being over-familiar.
Whenever called upon to take a tough decision – personal or professional – keep this one thing — your dignity sacrosanct, you will never regret the choices you made because you will have been true to yourself.
Try not to start planning your day around the activities of another person, trying to accommodate his or her schedule and idiosyncrasies, you are losing dignity.
And certainly, to maintain your dignity you have to be true to yourself.
When a relationship is not allowing you to be true to yourself and erodes your self-esteem, it will cause immense distress as time goes on.
Dignity is the absolute last sacrifice anyone should ever be asked to make, because it erodes one’s very core, wiping out one’s identity.
Do not exchange dignity for anything else you may think you need badly; it will boomerang in the long-term.
And yet, there are those amongst us who willingly make this sacrifice daily, letting go a bit of themselves slowly over the years, till a cynicism and bitterness sets in — surprising the receiver in the relationship by its sudden appearance and depth.
A man who believed in the sacrificial, serving avatar he demanded of and got from you through life is shocked by your sudden need to assert yourself!
BENEFITS OF HAVING DIGNITY
Two major things happen when you build up a culture of Dignity: conflicts and gossip.
Experience has shown that most conflicts in the workplace have an underlying, unaddressed violations of dignity at their core.
A robust gossip network also demonstrates that people do not feel safe to speak up when something bad happens to them and the negative effects of those violations go straight to the gossip mill.
Dignity helps leaders create a culture of dignity, it is important to have not only the interpersonal skills in honoring dignity, but also to be mindful of the importance of developing policies that honor dignity.
CONCLUSION
In all like as earlier said, do not trade your Dignity on the altar of Sacrifice.
You only get to regret much later; one sure thing is Dignity lost can definitely be regained through the Holy Spirit. He’s DIGNITY Personified!

What is PayPal? PayPal is the online wallet service of an American financial institution registered in the United States and several countries. The company is also registered in other countries including Canada, Luxemburg, Singapore, Spain, and the United Kingdom. It serves a global marketplace and is by far the biggest internet wallet service. The service opened-up in many other countries in the year 2014. It became officially available to residents of Nigeria since July 2014. Before then, only Nigerians residents in countries supported could open and operate an account.
How can I open a PayPal account in Nigeria? Opening an account from Nigeria is simple and straight-forward. You simply need to visit their official website or consult Giwason for assistance.
Requirements for Opening an Account in Nigeria You need a valid email address. This is the primary requirement. PayPal would attempt to validate the email address by sending a message. You would need to confirm the existence of the email address by following the steps in the message they send. You would also need a Visa or Mastercard linked to a Nigerian bank account. This could be a credit or debit card. This is necessary for verifying your PayPal account. The service would debit a tiny amount from the card and once you confirm the transaction, the account would be fully Verified. As of December 2018, Interswitch’s Verve card does not work with the service.
Can I receive funds through PayPal in Nigeria? Yes and No. Currently, personal accounts do not support receiving money in Nigeria. You can only open Personal Accounts and send money online from same. You can also make payment to millions of merchants around the world that accept payment via Paypal. Every payment you make would be charged from the Debit or Credit Card you have linked to the account. All transactions are currently denominated in United States Dollars (USD). Naira, the official currency of Nigeria, is currently not supported. As of December 2018, Business Accounts are now available to e-commerce merchants in Nigeria. However, you can only receive money through a website cart, not directly from another user.
MANY ONLINE SHOPPING CARTS SUPPORT PAYPAL They include AbanteCart, PrestaShop, OpenCart, CubeCart, osCommerce, Open eShop, Zen Cart, Loaded Commerce, Magento, X-Cart, Avactis, Quick.Cart, Invoice Ninja, SimpleInvoices etc. Their features and capabilities vary. Virtually all of them support PayPal. The specific guides for configuring the account into the shopping cart would vary par each system and is beyond the scope of this article. You would need to consult the support channels of whichever you choose to install for a more comprehensive guide for setup and management.
Limitations of PayPal Nigeria Accounts PayPal is an American service. The very best experience with this payment system is available to residents of the USA. No other country enjoys the depth and richness of features offered in the US. It feels like Nigeria is on the other end of the spectrum. Thus, I would be sharing the features available in the USA that are not available to Nigeria, to illustrate the limitations experienced by users in Nigeria. PayPal Credit: subject to credit approval, American users can make use of a digital credit line to make purchases online exceeding $99 and repay in installments. Card issuance: PayPal issues Cashback Mastercard (2% cashback everywhere the card is accepted), Extras Mastercard (cardholders can earn points on every spend), Cash Mastercard (a debit/ATM card linked directly to the PayPal wallet), and PrePaid Mastercard (for funds transfer from the wallet to the card) to residents of the USA. Near Instant Bank withdrawal: this new feature allows USA users to withdraw to their eligible debit card or bank account almost instantly, albeit for a premium fee. Regular withdrawals are free-of-charge and reflect the next working day. Fees: US-based merchants enjoy some of the lowest transaction fees for accepting payment over this platform. Sales within the USA can be as low as 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. PayPal Here card reader: US-based merchants also have the luxury of a card reader that enables them to accept payments physically from major card schemes.

PayPal is an electronic commerce company that facilitates payments between parties through online transfers. PayPal allows customers to establish an account on its platform, which is connected to a user’s credit card or checking account. Once identification and proof of funds are confirmed, users can begin sending or receiving payments to and from other PayPal accounts online or through the company’s app.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
PayPal is an online payment platform that offers individuals and businesses low-cost services.
PayPal has been its own company since 2015.
In addition to online payments, PayPal also offers a variety of related services including debit cards for payments, credit card readers for small merchants, and lines of credit.
PayPal is considered a very secure method of sending payments online.
How PayPal Works
PayPal offers payment services and solutions for both personal consumers and businesses. The company allows personal consumers to shop, make payments, and transfer money with relative ease. Users need an email address to sign up for an account and must provide a credit card, debit card, or bank account to complete the setup. PayPal verifies all the information to make sure the person setting up the account is the rightful owner before the service can be used.
PayPal account holders can use the company’s website or mobile app to transfer money to others using the recipient’s email address or mobile phone number. Shoppers can choose the PayPal option to complete purchases online if the retailer has the service. Transactions are completed within minutes and the company promises that transfers are available for payment or withdrawal to a bank account immediately.
PayPal also offers businesses a range of solutions for their day-to-day operations. This includes payment portals for both online and in-person transactions, business management solutions, as well as credit and financing options. Business owners must also provide an email address in order to create an account.
PayPal attempts to make online purchases safer by providing a form of payment that does not require the payor or payee to disclose credit card or bank account numbers. Therefore, money is secure, privacy is protected, and, since the customer base is so large, transactions are faster than traditional methods.
Special Considerations
Although PayPal is not a bank, it is still subject to many of the same consumer protection regulations by which banks are governed. For example, the extent of your liability for an unauthorized transaction is determined by how promptly you notify the bank that unauthorized activity has occurred in your account. Notifying PayPal quickly when you have concerns will help to limit your liability, and it is recommended that PayPal users check their accounts regularly.
History of PayPal
The first form of PayPal as we know was launched in the late 1990s by Confinity. The company merged with X.com—an online banking company—and officially took the PayPal name in 2001. It broke into the mainstream when it appeared as a payment facilitator for eBay auctions. The service became so popular that eBay decided to acquire PayPal in 2002, making it the official transfer service for its website. In 2015, PayPal was spun off as an independent company. Company shares trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol PYPL.
Throughout its history, PayPal has acquired other companies that serve different parts of the financial transaction, digital money transfer, and payments markets. Some of these acquisitions brought technology enhancements and additional features that were incorporated into the PayPal platform as the companies were absorbed. For example, PayPal purchased BrainTree in 2013, which owns rival service Venmo.
Types of PayPal Fees
PayPal doesn’t charge a fee for purchases. Other fees vary based on the type of service. For instance, personal consumers aren’t charged for standard transfers done from a linked bank account, but there is a fee of 1% of the transferred balance or a maximum of $10 for instant transfers.
Money can be transferred for free internationally if both parties have PayPal accounts. This makes PayPal a competitive force in the world of bank transfers when sending U.S. currency internationally. When foreign currency is accepted into another country, PayPal’s fees become more comparable to that of a traditional bank.
PayPal’s website advertises a 2.9% + a 30 cent transaction fee, which works out to $3.20 for a $100 transaction. This sounds simple until you dig deeper and find all the different packages and services available to merchants. PayPal’s fee structure for merchant transactions is different from its personal account transfers. PayPal charges between 2.7% and 3.2% plus a flat rate of 30 cents on a transfer of $100 in standard fees for merchants selling goods and services online, including eBay sellers and private businesses that use PayPal as a payment option.
Benefits of PayPal
Purchases made with a select few online retailers may include a discount from PayPal or a cashback offer of some sort. PayPal also offers its own credit card through Synchrony Bank. Approved applicants are supplied with MasterCards branded with the PayPal name.
The company also finances large purchases, extends lines of credit, and provides customers with debit MasterCards which use PayPal balances to pay for purchases in a brick-and-mortar store or to withdraw cash. With PayPal being so widely known, there are stores throughout the world that will accept PayPal payments for goods or services—some even accept contactless PayPal payments.

•Governor Receives New FRSC Lagos Commander.
•250 Road Safety Officers, 650 LASTMA To Manage Traffic On 3rd Mainland Bridge, Alternative Routes.
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appealed to residents of the State to exercise patience and bear the discomfort that will be experienced from the six-month partial closure of the Third Mainland Bridge, which starts Friday (tomorrow) evening.
The Governor said the closure of the 11.8km bridge – the busiest in the State – was inevitable, following physical deterioration observed on the structure after an integrity test conducted by the Federal Government.
The closure of the bridge, Sanwo-Olu said, will bring about pain, but the Governor said the development was necessary to prevent disaster that may result from the total collapse of the infrastructure.
He promised that men of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) would constantly be on the road with their Federal counterparts to ensure seamless movement of vehicles during the period.
Sanwo-Olu spoke on Thursday while receiving the new Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Lagos, Commodore Olusegun Ogungbemide, in a courtesy visit at the State House in Marina.
The FRSC chief was accompanied on the visit to the Governor by the Lagos Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Adeyinka Ayinla.
Sanwo-Olu said the State Government had carried out improvement work on alternative routes mapped out for diversions, while observing that vehicular movements on the Third Mainland Bridge would be disrupted by 25 per cent of its regular traffic.
He said: “The partial closure of Third Mainland Bridge is not something that everybody should worry about, because this is an exercise that had been done before. For emphasis, the traffic disruption is only about 25 per cent of the regular traffic on the bridge. The 75 per cent of vehicles that normally ply the route will still have access to move on the bridge during the period of repair.
“We have furnished and improved the design of the alternative routes, and we are still working on other arterial routes so that our people can have seamless journey times to and from their places of work. So, there is nothing commuters should worry about in this period. We will ensure the repair work on Third Mainland Bridge does not overburden them. We will be deploying over 650 LASTMA officers on the road to control the traffic.”
In the period of closure, the Governor said a lane of the bridge would be opened to traffic for vehicles driving inward Lagos Island in the morning, while other other lane would be shut. The reverse would be done for vehicle driving inward Mainland in the afternoon, while other will be shut.
To further assuage the discomfort that may be experienced by commuters and ease the roads of gridlock, Sanwo-Olu said the State had strengthened the State-owned Lagos Ferry Service (LAGFERRY) by doubling its capacity for mass movement, thereby giving the residents an alternative through water transportation.
He said: “We are also urging the commuters to explore the option of waterways in their journey. The jetty built in Ilaje area of Bariga has been activated and we are deploying more speedboats to raise the capacity of our ferry service. This is to ensure that many people are not on road at the same time.”
The Governor said his administration remained committed to improving transportation in the State, noting that delivering efficiently run intermodal transportation system was an important component of his Government’s deliverables.
Sanwo-Olu welcomed the FRSC Sector Commander to Lagos, assuring him of the State Government’s readiness to work with the federal safety agency.
Responding, Ogungbemide said the FRSC played prominent roles in the smooth running of Lagos security architecture, pleading with the Governor to integrate the agency into the State’s Security Council.
The FRSC boss assured Lagos residents of his readiness to engage activities that would give road users pleasant experience. He said 250 FRSC operatives would be deployed to work with LASTMA to maintain traffic on Third Mainland Bridge and alternative routes.
The complete repair work on the bridge is expected to take two years, out of which the carriageway will be closed to vehicles for six months.
Not what we Read, but what we Remember that makes us Learned.
STUDY GIVES ACCESS TO INSIGHT Your study life will reflect on your daily work. Your study life will make you a problem manager, it will develop in you the ability to handle issues that others experience. Your talents and potentials are not enough; you have to be all out to develop that gift that is deposited in you. Engage in mental development; go into the business of your mental development. It is your mental development that attracts other developments.
Studying Tips: Organize your study. Keep a study schedule. Make a study goal. Read Beneficial Books. Make flashcards. Reward yourself.
What is writing? Writing involves the ability to put things down in a clear, precise, coherent and effective manner. You must learn how to write effectively by imitating good writers. And you can only come in contact with good writers by reading widely.
What is reading? Reading is an important study skill and component of learning. If you read efficiently, you will learn. Without reading, you cannot learn a lot of things.
In studying therefore: You must read very well. You must read with concentration. You must read where there is less distraction. You must read and ensure you are learning. You must not read at the wrong time, don’t read because your colleagues are reading. You must read and be able to recall what you have learnt. (Not what we read, but what we remember that makes us learned).
It is commonly said that every committed reader is a potential leader. Your leadership potentials can only be actualized through a studious life. It is when you read to learn how to read, your life can only lead others.
WINDOWS OF OPPORTUNITIES. Majority of scholars believe that Life is full of opportunities; you need to keep preparing yourself for that opportunity, don’t let it meet you unprepared because opportunities are like vehicles that can take you to the next level. Make hay while the sun shine, remember every dog has its own day. Life is too short to spend, spend it with relevant people, and try to have time for information because it leads to transformation. Are you prepared? If not, then keep preparing yourself, always avoid places without value/opportunity and always be just to people.
Always read books because readers are leaders, opportunity + preparation will take you to the next level, join associations and union because it also leads to opportunity, life is full of opportunities, yes but not all opportunities are meant for you. Be careful, because there is also once in a life time opportunity, don’t miss it. Don’t allow the little you know to disappear or vanished. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
